UKTI FUNDS DUTCH CONSTRUCTION MARKET RESEARCH WITH SMYE HOLLAND ASSOCIATES
The government’s UK Trade & Investment department (UKTI – www.uktradeinvest.gov.uk) is to help fund research into the Dutch construction industry being undertaken by Peterborough-based marketing and public relations consultancy Smye Holland Associates (www.smye-holland.com).
The research will be conducted by Smye Holland Associates’ office in The Netherlands (www.smye-holland.nl). It will seek to explore attitudes generally to exporting within the construction sector in The Netherlands and about attitudes to the UK market in particular. It will also aim to better understand what assistance existing or potential exporters to the UK might require and where they would seek such assistance.
Half the cost of the research is being met by UKTI and half by Smye Holland Associates itself.
Michael Ruiter, Smye Holland Associates’ general manager in The Netherlands, said:
“Knowing more about the problems and opportunities facing construction companies in The Netherlands will help us to better shape our services to help them.”
Smye Holland Associates specialises in helping clients in the construction, engineering, technology and environment sectors to market their products and services. It is also developing increasing expertise in food and related sectors. The company’s office near Amsterdam helps Dutch companies to export into the UK and British companies to export into The Netherlands.
Chris Kubicki of UKTI said: “Given Smye Holland Associates’ core expertise in marketing it is no surprise that it has recognised the benefits of undertaking some in-depth market research. UKTI has been happy to assist with funding this – and can offer similar assistance to other businesses that are developing new export markets.”
